Barrie M. Osborne

Barrie M. Osborne ( born February 7, 1944 in New York City ) is an American film producer and film director.

Life

Barrie M. Osborne was born the son of the jeweler William Osborne and Hertha Schwarz in New York City. During his college years at Carleton College, where he played hockey and wash tub bass in a band student. After graduating in 1966 in sociology, he joined during the Vietnam War the United States Army Corps of Engineers and worked for four years in Korea, where he was promoted to First Lieutenant, which is about the German rank of Lieutenant. After his military service, he went back to New York in 1970, where he started in a small film production company, which turned mainly commercials. He started there as a production assistant before he became responsible for the production budgets by company founder. From there, Osborne could then participate in a training program for the Directors Guild of America, where he worked in The Godfather Francis Ford Coppola - Part II, Sydney Pollack in Three Days of the Condor and Alan J. Pakula in The Untouchables assisted in directing.

Although Osborne was still working as an assistant director in other films such as American Hot Wax and The China Syndrome, it was the production behind the camera, which required his skills and he devoted himself to getting stronger. So it was in 1976 for the TV series Kojak - Kojak worked in four episodes as a manager before he acted first time in 1981 with the thriller to the bitter end as a producer.

Last Osborne was due to a possible film adaptation of the prophet Mohammed in an interview. With the capital of the media company Alnoor Holdings Qatar a budget of between 150 million and 200 million U.S. dollars for it should be made available.

Since July 30, 1969 Osborne was married to Micah Yun. With his current life partner Carol Kim, with whom he has their daughter Danielle Kim, he lives in Seatoun, Wellington, New Zealand.
