Barry Briggs

Barry Briggs (born 30 December 1934 in Christchurch, New Zealand ) is a former British- New Zealand Speedway riders. He was one of the dominant Speedway rider of the 50s and 60s. He took from 1954 to 1972 18 times in the final of the World Individual Championship Speedway in part. He took four titles.

In 1976, he finished his career. In the same year he was nominated for his sporting achievements for the Order of the British Empire. 1990 saw the entry into the Sports Hall of Fame of New Zealand.
