Barry Everitt (scientist)

Barry J. Everitt is a British biopsychologist, university professor and Master of Downing College at Cambridge University.

Career

Everitt studied zoology and psychology at the University of Hull and a PhD from the University of Birmingham. Following his doctoral studies, he conducted research at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. In 1974 he went to the University of Cambridge, where he became in 1976 professor of medicine at Downing College.

Everitt was chief editor of the " European Journal of Neuroscience" and member of the Scientific Commission of Science. He is a member of the Royal Society.
