Barry McGuire

Barry McGuire (* October 15, 1935 in Oklahoma ) is a folk-rock singer and guitarist who is best known by the ones presented in a hoarse voice protest song Eve of Destruction 1965 worldwide. Many radio stations boycotted the first piece; it was more than five million copies. The single reached September 25th, 1965 # 1 in the Billboard Hot 100 and remained his only Top 10 hit. In previous years was Barry McGuire lead singer with the New Christy Minstrels. In 1971 McGuire then produced exclusively Christian pop music. He retired in the mid-1980s to New Zealand and mid-1990s, returned to the United States, where he now lives in California.
