Barry Robson

Barry Gordon George Robson ( born November 7, 1978 in Aberdeen, Scotland) is a Scottish football player. Robson is a versatile midfielder, but he usually plays in the left midfield.

Career

Clubs

Robson's career began with the Glasgow Rangers; here but the Scot could never prevail and so he moved in 1997 to the then third division club Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Again he played initially not very often, but he contributed a part to ensure that Inverness Thistle ascended to the second division in 1999. He has been awarded to Forfar Athletic in 1999. At the end of the loan Robson was an integral part of Inverness Thistle until he moved to Dundee United in 2003. In his debut for Dundee United v Hibernian Robson saw the red card, but he was part of the starting eleven from Dundee United. At the beginning of the season 2006/ 07 Robson was appointed captain of Dundee, in the same year he was - before Charlie Adam with seven goals - Most dangerous goal scorer with eleven goals midfielders in the league. On the last day of the winter transfer window 2007/ 08 Robson signed for Celtic Glasgow. On 10 February 2008 he gave his debut against FC Aberdeen for Glasgow Celtic. With his first touch in the game Robson scored a goal in a free kick. Even in the Champions League played the Scot this season. On 13 January 2010 he transferred together with Willo Flood and Chris Killen of Middlesbrough FC.

National

Between 2005 and 2007, Robson played a total of two times in Scotland's B- team, a team consisting of players perspective, comparable with the team in 2006. In August 2007, Robson was in the game against South Africa, his debut for the senior team.
