Barry Ryan (singer)

Barry Ryan ( born October 24, 1948 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England as Barry Sapherson ) is a British pop singer who from the mid-1960s, together with his twin brother, Paul Ryan, in 1968 the world as a solo artist until the early 1970s hit parades - could celebrate successes. Life

Childhood and youth

The identical twins were children of the 1950s rather successful singer Marion Ryan and her first husband Lloyd Sapherson. At 15, she joined a self into show business; they took over from then on the girls and artist names her mother - first as The Ryan Twins.

The musical history

The Ryan Brothers published in the 1960s by Decca Records number of successful hit singles, including Do not Bring Me Your Heartaches (1965 ), Have Pity On The Boy (1966) and I Love Her (1966 ), which in the were able to place the British charts in the top 20. They signed a recording contract in late 1967 at the MGM Records label. The solo career

With the second published by MGM Records solo single Eloise Barry Ryan succeeded in 1968 an absolute worldwide hit. In six countries, the dramatic, richly orchestrated song occupied for weeks the number one of the charts. In the home country, the UK Eloise came in at number 2 The single sold a total of over three million times. The inspiration for writing this song Paul Ryan took while listening to the song McArthur Park by Richard Harris. He was so excited about this song that he also wanted to write a song in the style of music.

Paul still wrote other hits for Ryan, for example, Love Is Love, The Hunt and kitsch, but not able to build on the worldwide success of Eloise. After the great success
