Barry van Galen

Barry van Galen ( born April 4, 1970 in Haarlem ) is a Dutch football player.

Van Galen began his career as a professional player in 1991 in the middle of the Dutch Erstdivisionärs HFC Haarlem. From 1993 he was at Roda JC Kerkrade in the Eredivisie under contract. After three season in Kerkrade 1996 he moved to league rivals NAC Breda. Since the summer of 1997, he plays for AZ Alkmaar.

On 17 November 2004 Van Galen was appointed by national coach Marco van Basten for the World Cup qualifier against Andorra for the first time in the Netherlands, the Dutch national football team. At 34 years and 227 days he was the oldest debutant of the national team in the history of Dutch football.
