Barthélemy Adoukonou

Barthelemy Adoukonou ( born August 24, 1942 in Abomey ) is a Beninese Roman Catholic theologian and Curia Bishop.

Life

The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, Grégoire -Pierre XV. Cardinal Agagianian, ordained him a priest on 16 December 1966. Benedict XVI. appointed him on 3 December 2009 to the Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Culture and September 10, 2011 as Titular Bishop of Zama Minor.

He received his episcopal consecration of the Cardinal Secretary of State and Cardinal Chamberlain, Tarcisio Cardinal Bertone, SDB, on 8 October of the same year; Gianfranco Ravasi were co-consecrators, president of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications of the Pontifical Commissions for the Cultural Heritage of the Church and for Sacred Archaeology, and Giuseppe Bertello, governor of the Vatican City and president of the Pontifical Commission for the Vatican City State.

The Pope appointed him on 29 December 2011 as the Member of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications.
