Bartholin's cyst

Bartholin's cysts are painless or moderately painful cysts on the inner edge of the labia majora, on the border between the middle and posterior thirds of the vestibule, caused by a nonbacterial laying / bonding of the excretory duct of Bartholin's gland. The 2 cm long excretory duct of the Bartholin gland opens into the vestibule of the vagina. When ignited the duct, it is called BARTHOLINITIS, a (pseudo) abscess or empyema. Batholin cysts are surgically opened and marsupialisiert.
