Bartlomiej Oles

Bartholomew Oleś (* 1973 in Sosnowiec ) is a Polish drummer, composer and producer. He is the twin brother of bassist Marcin Oleś. Both are among the most prominent younger musicians in Poland.

Life

Bartholomew Oleś studied percussion and vibraphone at the Music Academy in Lodz. Together with his brother a whole series of recordings with the international protagonists of free jazz are now published, for example: David Murray, Herb Robertson, Kenny Werner, Theo Jörgensmann, Ken Vandermark, Chris Speed ​​and Simon Nabatov.

Bartholomew Oleś is the artistic director and producer of the Polish jazz labels fenommedia.

Since 2003 he plays in a trio Oles Jörgensmann Oles with his brother Marcin and the German clarinetist Theo Jörgensmann. Your CD Directions was chosen by the Polish Internet Jazz Magazine Diapazon for "The Best Album of the Year 2005".
