Bartolina Sisa

Bartolina Sisa (* August 12, 1750 or August 24, 1753, † September 5, 1782 ) was the wife of well-known also as Tupaq Qatari indigenous rebel leader Julián Apaza. Like this they came to the people of the Aymara.

Life

Your date of birth is uncertain, as some sources indicate the August 24, 1753, but the other August 12, 1750. Together with her husband she led the uprising of 40,000 Indians against the Spanish in Bolivia in 1782. The army stopped the siege for 184 days from March to June and from August to October, upright. Sisa was commanding officer of the urine siege and played the crucial role after the capture and execution of her husband in April. The siege was ended by colonial troops from Lima and Buenos Aires. Sisa was captured and executed by the Spaniards on September 5, 1782.
