Bartolomeo Cavarozzi

Bartolomeo Cavarozzi (* 1590 in Viterbo, † September 21, 1625 in Rome) was an Italian painter of the early Baroque period.

Life

Bartolomeo Cavarozzi was a pupil of the architect and painter Giovanni Battista Crescenzi in Rome, and when he went to Spain in 1617, followed him Cavarozzi and spent a year working in Madrid, but then returned back to Italy.

Bartolomeo Cavarozzi painted in his early creative period in the style of Cristofano Roncalli, who was also the master of Crescenzi. From 1610, however, but he followed the style of painting of Caravaggio, whose novel and realistic image composition, he took over. Because of this sustained influence he is counted among the so-called Caravaggio.

Bartolomeo Cavarozzi used his connections to a native of a Roman patrician family Cavarozzi and was thus able to meet the demands of an increasingly liberalized market pictures, without having to sacrifice the hergebrachte patronage relationship. Selected Works Cavarozzis show that he could be set through consultation with Crescenzi to individual artistic needs of clients. This close relationship is said to have earned him the nickname " Bartolomeo del Crescenzi ".

It can be assumed that Cavarozzi is the painter who created the figures in the pictures of the Master of the Acquavella Still Life. In Akzpeptanz the thesis that there had been in this unnamed painter Giovanni Battista Crescenzi order, thus both have even created together images.
