Bartolomeo Schedoni

Bartolomeo Schedoni (* 1578 in Modena, † 1615 in Parma ) was an Italian painter.

Life

Schedoni was born in Modena and was mostly active in Parma in the service of the house of Farnese. His early works are among the best examples of Italian mannerism and betrayed Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio influence. Later he adapted to the style of Caravaggio and used lighting effects with a lot of charm. His early death is said to have been the result of his uncontrolled passion for games.
