Barzan is an Iraqi city in the province of Arbil. Barzan is located about 20 km from the Turkish border on the Great Zab at an altitude of about 700 m. The village belongs to the district Mergasor. The inhabitants are mostly Kurds.

Barzan is the home and namesake of the tribe Barzani, who has a leading position among the Kurds of Iraq. Barzan was several times target of attacks by the Iraqi government during the fighting against the Kurds.
