Bas-Saint-Laurent
Bas -Saint -Laurent is an administrative region (French région administrative ) in the eastern Canadian province of Quebec.
It is further into eight regional county municipalities ( municipalites Clarisse de comté ) and 130 municipalities, Reserves, and unincorporated areas divided. Seat of administration is Rimouski.
The population is 200 462 (2011), the land area of 22,184.9 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 9.0 inhabitants per km ². 99.8 % of the population speak French, 0.1% English as the main language.
In the north of Bas -Saint -Laurent is adjacent to the St. Lawrence Gulf, the west by the region of Capitale - Nationale, on the southwest by Chaudière - Appalaches, in the south of the U.S. state of Maine and the Province of New Brunswick, on the east by the Gaspésie -Îles -de- la- Madeleine.
