Baselios Marthoma Paulose II.

Baselios Mar Thoma Paulose II ( Malayalam: ബസേലിയോസ് മാര്ത്തോമ്മാ പൗലോസ് ദ്വിതിയന് }; born August 30, 1946 in Mangad, Thrissur, Kerala as KI Paul ) is the reigning " Catholicos of the East and of the apostolic throne of St. Thomas " of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.

Life

On June 21, 1973, he was Yuhanon Mar Severios a priest on May 14, 1983 by Mathews Mar Coorilos to Ramban on May 15, 1985 Bishop ( with the name Paulose Mar Milithios ) in the Puthiyacavu St. Mary's Church by Baselios Marthoma Mathews I consecrated and became the first bishop and in 1991 Metropolitan of Kunnamkulam. September 27, 2006 Mar Milithios was elected designated successor of the Catholicos of the East. On 1 November 2010 he was enthroned Orthodox Syrian Church after the resignation for reasons of age of Catholicos Baselios Marthoma Didymos I Catholicos of the Malankara as new. He is the eighth Catholicos after the establishment of the Indian Catholicosate in 1912 and the 21st Malankara Metropolitan.
