Basement 5

Basement 5 were a London reggae band with punk influences, which was founded in 1978. Their first singer was Winston Fergus, then Don Letts and finally from 1979 Dennis Morris, a photographer. The drummer was last Dudanski Richard, who had previously played with Public Image Limited. Their lyrics reflect the situation for young people in England by Maggie Thatcher: unemployment, strikes, racism, impoverishment of the working class. The band made after 1980 no more records.
