Basharmal Sultani

Basharmal Sultani (born 28 January 1985) is an Afghan boxer. He was a member of the five-member teams from Afghanistan, the first time took part in 2004 in Athens since the fall of the Taliban government again in the Olympic Games.

Sultani began at the age of 16 years with the boxes. He is a national champion of his country. Due to an injury on his thumb he could not participate in a staged in Pakistan qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games in May 2004. A wildcard nevertheless enabled him to start in Athens.

On August 15, 2004 Sultani went to welterweight. In the first round he met on the quarter finalists of the Olympic Games in Sydney HIKAL Mohamed from Egypt, and defeated after scoring with 12:40.

In addition to his athletic career Sultani studied literature at the University of Kabul.
