Bashkim Fino

Bashkim Fino ( born October 12, 1962 in Tirana) was March 9, 1997 to June 29, 1997 Albanian Prime Minister of the transitional government.

Bashkim Fino studied economics in Tirana and the USA. After his training, he worked as an economist in Gjirokastra. He was mayor of the southern Albanian town in 1992.

Fino is a member of the Socialist Party of Albania. During the lottery uprising in 1997, he led a broad -based transitional government and prepared the announcement to calm the situation before elections. On June 29, his party won a comfortable majority and Fino was replaced by the Party Chairman Fatos Nano as prime minister. In many of the subsequent governments he had ministerial posts. At times, he was also a board member of the Socialist Party.

He is married, has two children and lives in Tirana.
