Basic Income Earth Network

The Basic Income Earth Network ( BIEN ) is a global network that wants to promote an unconditional basic income ( UBI ) with congresses, research and advocacy. It combines academics and activists who support the idea of a universal basic income, distribute and want to clarify. It serves as a connection point between individuals and groups who work for a basic income, which is based on civil rights and not on job performance or means test. On the website of the network that promotes serious discussion on the subject worldwide, the basic income is described as an income which is to be unconditionally granted to all on an individual basis, without means test or work requirement.

History

The BIEN Founded in 1986, held in September of that year from its first international conference in Louvain- la -Neuve. The Basic Income European Network initially still ( BIEN ) called network spread its influence to 1994 on the entire globe. 1998 three times given out annually circular was introduced, which now appears bimonthly based on e -mails.

Germany

The Basic Income Network is a member of BIEN since 2004. In January 2013, counted over 3,466 club members and 103 organizations.

The network is supported by a basic income patrons. The Executive Committee includes the time ( January 2013) three members: Reimund Acker, Ronald Blaschke and Ralf Engelke.

Switzerland

The nonprofit organization Basic Income Earth Network Switzerland, founded in 2001 ( BIEN- Switzerland ) since 2002 is also part of the global alliance. He is registered in accordance with Article 60 and following of the Swiss Civil Code as a politically independent organization.

BIEN- Switzerland had the international BIEN Congress organized in Geneva in 2002.

Since April 21, 2012 a Swiss popular initiative runs for the realization of an unconditional basic income, BIEN- Switzerland involved in the up. Austria

The network was founded on 21 October 2002: Basic Income and Social Cohesion, BIEN -Austria also participates in a European Citizens ' Initiative (ECI ) for an unconditional basic income. Since 14 January 2013 those EBI is registered (ECI (2013 ) 000001 ) from the European Commission. The volunteer citizens committee consisted of about 50 people from 15 countries.
