Basile Boli

Basile Boli ( born January 2, 1967 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast ) is a former French footballer. In his career, he shared with his older brother Roger started in 1982 with AJ Auxerre, finishing at Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan in 1997, he was active in the professional leagues of France, Scotland and Japan. In addition, he played from 1986 to 1993 in the national team. He was awarded with the Etoile d'Or in 1989.

He became famous with the success of Olympique Marseille in 1991 and 1992, the club ensured the way back in 1989 and in 1990 acquired Ligue 1 title, the UEFA Champions League 1992/93 he won the final against AC Milan ( 1-0) by a header.
