Basileiades

Vasiliadis (Greek Βασιλειάδης, also Basiliades transcribed French: Société des Constructions Hellenique Basiliades, English:. . Basiliades Engine & Shipbuilding CO., LTD) was a machine factory from Piraeus, which existed until the 1960s.

Starting with a shipyard, located Vasiliadis end of the 19th century developed into the leading industrial group of South Eastern Europe. The range consisted of locomotives and steam engines on cranes and bridges. Initially highly profitable, the company lost in the 20th century massive market share. The Greek government appeared to the industry operating ineligible, but the products had to say what never succeeded against highly subsidized products from abroad.
