Båstad Båstad is the capital of the municipality in the Swedish province of Skåne län the Kattegat.

History

In the 14th or 15th century, when Skåne was part of Denmark, Båstad first got city rights. At that time the name of the city was still Botstædæ (German boat body or parking of boats). 1664, after the area had been conquered in 1658 by Sweden, Bastad were special rights have been granted, but lost it due to its small size, the full city rights and was given the status of a patch ( Sr. köping ). Only in 1858 were the city rights granted again Båstad.

Sports
