Bastian Schweinsteiger ( born August 1, 1984 in Kolbenmoor ) is a German footballer who plays in the German Bundesliga FC Bayern Munich since 2002 under contract and is active for the national team since 2004. Childhood and education

Earlier in his career Schweinsteiger was often mistakenly called Sebastian Schweinsteiger. However, on request of a reporter, he explained that his name first name Bastian. As a nickname quickly gained the name Schweinsteiger, the Schweinsteiger itself, however, now refuses.

He is passionate about basketball, regularly attended the games of the basketball section of FC Bayern Munich and is an honorary member of the " Bigreds ", a fan club of Bayern- ballers.
