Bastian Swillims

Bastian Swillims ( born December 9, 1982 in Dortmund ) is a retired German sprinter. He was 2007 Vice European Champion in the hall about 400 meters.

Life

The 400 - meter runner won in 2000 with the German 4 x 400 - meter relay team in the World Championship. In 2001 he won with 46.88 s bronze at the European Junior Championships. The following year he was first in adults range German masters in the hall. At the European Championships in 2002, he finished with the German relay to seventh place. He reached the same place in the relay at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. At the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006, he was with the Fourth Season.

2007 Swillims was the second time German indoor champion. Shortly after, he won the silver medal at the European Indoor Championships in Birmingham. He improved his Hallenbestzeit there at 45.62 s in the same year he succeeded at last to bring the national title in the open air at the Championships in Erfurt. His personal best outdoors he presented with 45.44 s at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka. Current time in the flow but not enough for him for a place in the next round. In the relay race, the German quartet reached the eighth place.

2008 Swillims participated in the Olympic Games in Beijing part where he but in individual and team competition each eliminated in the flow. In 2009 he became German champion with the season of the TV Wattenscheid. The following year, he won the German indoor championship in both the individual and with the Wattenscheider season.
