Batajnica

Batajnica ( Serbian Cyrillic Батајница ) is a suburb of the Serbian capital Belgrade in the municipality of Zemun. Batajnica is close to the Danube in Syrmia on the main connecting corridor to Novi Sad and Ruma.

Location

Batajnica is on the Syrmischen Loess Plateau on the northern border of the Belgrade metropolitan area. From the alluvial plain of the Danube Batajnica is separated by a striking Lössstufe of 114 m. The nearest towns are Nova Pazova and Novi Banovci, a village of the municipality of Stara Pazova, with which it is almost grown together.
