Batiovo

Batjowo (Ukrainian Батьово; Батёво Russian, Slovak Batu, Batovo, Hungarian Bátyú ) is located in the Western Ukraine about 24 kilometers southwest of the city of Mukachevo an urban-type settlement.

The approximately 3,000 inhabitants place is situated in Transcarpathian lowland north of the river Serne ( Серне ).

History

The town was first mentioned in writing in 1270 as Bacy and is since 1872 node on the railway line Chop - Lviv and Batjowo - Korolewe.
