The Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport ( IATA: BTR, ICAO: KBTR ) is the airport of the city of Baton Rouge in the U.S. state of Louisiana. It lies about 7 km north of the city center in the East Baton Rouge Parish.
The former Harding Army Air Field was used as a training airfield during the Second World War by the United States Army Air Forces. Today, apart from the runways barely discernible traces of it.
Specifications
The airport covers an area of 506 hectares in 21 m above sea level. There are three runways:
- 4L/22R - 2,286 m long and 46 m wide surfaced with concrete
- 4R/22L - 1,158 m long and 23 m wide with blacktop
- 13 / 31-2135 m long and 46 m wide with blacktop
Air traffic is monitored by air traffic controllers in the control tower of the airport.
