BATS Chi-X Europe
The Chi -X Europe Limited ( Chi-X short ) is a Multilateral Trading Facility (MTF ), headquartered in London, which is majority owned by Instinet, a subsidiary of Japanese bank Nomura Holdings.
Background
The first shares were traded on 30 March 2007 on Chi -X. Since its launch on 29 March 2007 European Multilateral Clearing Facility ( EMCF ) is handled by the clearing of the traded contracts. Since June 2008, the German bank is connected to the trading system Chi -X.
In May 2009, LCH.Clearnet confirmed that they were also planning the launch of clearing services for Chi -X.
Ownership structure
Founder and principal owner of Chi -X Instinet, a subsidiary of Japanese bank Nomura Holdings. In addition, since December 2007, have the investment banks and broker BNP Paribas, Citi, Credit Suisse, Fortis, Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers (until 2008), Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Société Générale, UBS, Citadel Investment Group ( Chicago hedge fund ), Optiver (dealer) and Getco Europe (Dealer) larger proportions.
