Battery Park City

Battery Park City is a neighborhood in the southwest of Manhattan in New York, which was built on 1967-1976 reclaimed land on the banks of the Hudson River.

Like the eponymous Battery Park belongs to the administrative district of Manhattan Community Board 1 The population was the census in 2000, 7951 inhabitants; these were in 2377 more than in the count of 1990.

Battery Park City is bounded on the east by West Street with the districts of the Financial District and TriBeCa. It includes the building of the World Financial Center, the Museum of Jewish Heritage, the Commodities Exchange of New York Mercantile Exchange and the Stuyvesant High School.
