Battle of Lautulae

The Battle of Lautulae ( near the present-day Terracina ) took place during the Second Samnitenkrieg probably in the year 315 BC instead. The Roman historian Livy has survived two versions. After his preferred the battle ended in a draw at nightfall. The second tradition, which is also attested by the Greek historian Diodorus says that the Roman forces under Quintus Fabius Maximus dictator Rullianus subject to the Samnites and the magister equitum Quintus Aulius Cerretanus fell in battle.
