The Battle of the Mincio (also known as the Battle of Pozzolo ) was a military conflict between French troops under the command of General Brune and Habsburg troops under General Bellegarde.

When, after the battle of Marengo, a truce between France and Austria had been agreed, the Austrians held the line on the river Mincio. The French reserve army was now under the command of General Brune, since Napoleon had left for Paris. On December 25 Brune attacked the Austrian position and broke through their positions. The Austrians retreated to the Adige. Two days after the battle, the truce was renewed.
