The Battle of sulci was a naval battle that was during the First Punic War in 258 BC between the Romans and the Carthaginians before sulci (today Sant'Antioco ) held off the southwest coast of Sardinia. It ended with a victory of the Romans under their consul Gaius Sulpicius Paterculus over the Carthaginians under Hannibal Gisco. This demonstrated the Romans after the victory against Mylae again their strength at sea, without the Carthaginians, who maintained a base in Olbia, be able to sell all of Sardinia.
