Baugi

Baugi is narrated in the Old Norse mythology in the Skáldskaparmál the Snorra Edda.

Baugi was a jötunn, a giant and brother of Suttung who had the Poets FAQ, the mead of poetry, in the mountain Hnitbjörg hidden. The Met had taken from the albums Black Fiallarr and Gallarr Suttung. These had previously Suttungs father Gilling, Baugis uncle drowned.

Odin wanted to come into the possession of the Mets poetry and decided to raise him by a ruse, since he himself was unable to find the Met. He hired himself for a whole summer at Baugi who was a farmer, and demanded as a reward only a sip of the drink. Then Baugi drilled a hole in the mountain Hnitbjörg. Odin then turned into a snake and slipped through the borehole. In Mountain Suttungs daughter Gunnlöð guarded the Poets FAQ, but Odin persuaded her to let him take three trains. Odin drank, contrary to the agreement the entire mead, was transformed into an eagle and escaped.
