The Bauma ( International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles and Construction Equipment ) is the world's largest trade fair in the construction industry. The spelling of the organizer is Bauma. The trade fair, which can be visited by anyone who is held every three years on the grounds of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre and lasts for seven days.

Bauma 2013 was held from 15 to 21 April 2013, around 3,420 exhibitors from 57 countries held (2010: 3,150 exhibitors from 53 countries, 2007: 3,002 exhibitors from 48 countries). There were over 530,000 visitors ( 2010: around 415,000, 2007: 500,000 ) on the Bauma. The 200,000 foreign visitors came from 200 countries. The exhibition area was 570,000 m² (2010: 555,000 m², 2007: 540,000 m² ), of which 180,000 square meters of floor space accounted for. Partner region was the country of Indonesia. The next fair will be held from 11 to 17 April 2016.

In terms of area, Bauma is the world's largest trade exhibition ever. The exhibition area is divided into all the halls of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre and the enlarged each for this fair exhibition grounds.

In addition to manufacturers of classic machinery ( excavators, cranes, rollers, etc. ) also a provider of light and tools ( such as saws, drills, cutter), site equipment, formwork, scaffolding, formwork accessories, construction vehicles and machinery and equipment for the building materials industry and mining their products.

An important offshoot is now also the Bauma China, which takes place every two years each November in Shanghai, serving the Southeast Asian market. Another international trade fair modeled after the Bauma is also the bC India - A Bauma Conexpo show - which until February 11, 2011 was held in Mumbai for the first time on 8.

Formation

The first exhibition was in 1954 on a portion of the former airport Oberwiesenfeld - today Olympiapark Munich - place where they had their location every year until 1967. From there they took place on the former fairgrounds above the Bavaria and the below lying Theresienwiese as an additional outdoor area. Since 1966, Bauma is organized by Messe München GmbH. Since 1998, Bauma is located at the new exhibition center in Riem. She was the first major exhibition on the site.
