Bauru is the home of the football club Esporte Clube Noroeste, which plays in the Série A2 of the Campeonato Paulista Paulista de Futebol of Federação.

The football player Edson Arantes do Nascimento, most better known by his nickname Pelé, played before he came to Santos in Bauru Atlético Clube.

Long-distance passenger

2008 was a landmark of the city, the Bauruzinho, stolen by a gang of youths who wanted to decorate her room with things like traffic signs, shopping carts and even the Bauruzinho. The Bauruzinho is a colorful figure, which is a sandwich and at Av. Naçoes Unidas was placed. Through the police investigation however, they were transferred and the figure ensured.
