Bavarian B I

Bavarian BI were locomotives of the Royal Bavarian State Railways.

The BI series was developed in parallel with the series A II, but had instead of the second barrel axis a dome axis. Thus they also had a higher tractive power. The boiler was of the type Stephenson long boiler. They also had a fork frame and Stephenson exterior control with outside cylinders. The coupling rods were worked according to the American model. Later, many locomotives were equipped with a boiler of the type Crampton.

They were equipped with a Tender of the type 3 T 4.2, later 3 T 5.
