The Series C and later C III, was a locomotive of the Bavarian Eastern Railway and the Reichsbahn.

Overall, this locomotive were built for the Eastern Railway in Bavaria from 1867 55 copies. Three were sold in 1872 but in new condition on the Imperial Railways in Alsace- Lorraine and replaced by new buildings with the same number, so that the operation backlog amounted to 52 pieces. The five series avoided this in dimensions from one another. They showed it to larger grate and heating surfaces than previous machines, the C II series. In addition, the drive is transferred to the central axis, so that a shorter drive rods sufficient. The vehicles had a control of type Allan and steam jet pumps.

However, they have not been taken into active service in 1925. Three vehicles were gone as reparations to the NMBS Belgium.
