Bavarian C III

The steam locomotives of the Bavarian type C III were six-coupled freight locomotives of the Royal Bavarian State Railways.

Normal type

They were developed from the C II. Manufactured were a total of 239 specimens, which varied in size among themselves. So the third series had for example a boiler with 30 mm more in diameter. Taken over by the Reichsbahn vehicles should be given the numbers 53 7871-7990. These locomotives were scrapped, however, until 1925. Some machines went to Belgium as reparations.

The vehicles were equipped with a Tender Type the bay 3 8.95 T and 3 T 10.5.

Type Sigl

These locomotives originally manufactured for Hungary were acquired by the company Sigl, as it was in urgent need of new locomotives for freight. After a later replacement of the boiler they were identical to the other vehicles of this type, except for the main mass. Taken over by the Reichsbahn locomotives should, points 53 7831-7833, but were retired by 1925.

The vehicles were bay 3 T 12 is equipped with a Tender of design.
