Bavarian D I

The D I Royal Bavarian State Railways was a shunting tank locomotive with two driving axles.

The D I was purchased in three series of six, five and four vehicles 1871-1875. As intended, the structural design of these locomotives was simple and robust. The framework was designed as a double frame in its front part between the side frames water tanks were hooked. Since the existing water supply of 1.74 m³ proved itself for a company operating only in the station area Switcher to be too small in some Locomotives in the 1880s, additional lateral water tanks were installed. The external control Stephenson moved the overhead slide the horizontal cylinder. The locomotives could be slowed down by a Extersche throw lever brake.

The D I knew it shunting on small and medium-sized stations, such as in Schwandorf, Straubing or Neumarkt id Oberpfalz. 13 locomotives were in the transition of the Bavarian State Railway in the kingdom still exists. For seven operating numbers 88 7011-7017 were supported by the Deutsche Reichsbahn provided the Machines have been but retired before the renumbering.
