Bavarian D X

The locomotives of the genus DX were wet steam locomotives of the Bavarian State Railways.

The built by Krauss locomotives resembled the genus D VIII, however, were slightly smaller and lighter. As the D VIII had a trailing axle, which was associated with the last coupling axis to a Krauss- Helmholtz bogie.

In 1890, first six, built in 1893 three more copies with slightly larger wheels. The first machine was only 8,880 mm long, due to the lack of coal-box to the cab.

All vehicles were taken over by the Reichsbahn as Class 98.77 in 1925 and were in service until 1931. Only the operating numbers 98 7706 and 98 7707 were already retired shortly after the renumbering.
