Bavarian Gts 4/4

The single locomotive of the genus Gts 4/4 of the Bavarian State Railroad was built in 1909 for the meter-gauge line between Eichstätt and Kinding.

The four driving axles were very close to each other moved so narrow curves could be passed through. The central axes were mounted laterally sliding, so that the drive rod could act only on the fourth axis. The wheelbase was only 2.6 meters and was in conjunction with the total length of the locomotive of almost 8.5 meters very large overhangs. This resulted in a relatively rough operation of the machine.

Also noticeable was the very generously sized cab. The framework was designed as a water tank, and the steam dome was a housing protected by a safety valve. Was carried by the machine 2.2 cubic meters of water and 1.2 tons of coal.

The locomotive was primarily used in the dolly traffic between Eichstätt and a quarry. After the founding of the National Railroad locomotive was taken as the class 99.15 with the number 99 151. The locomotive was retired in 1935, after the reconstruction of the track was completed to standard gauge.
