Bavarian LE

The steam locomotives of Class LE were Schmalspurloks the Royal Bavarian State Railways.

History

The vehicles were made ​​for the meter-gauge line between Eichstätt Eichstätt - town and train station. 1885 procured the train two copies, 1892 a third. After the 5.2 km long line was extended over Eichstätt out to 30 kilometers, were added in 1898 and 1900 two more machines. The vehicles carried the train numbers I- V.

The German Reichsbahn took over in 1925 all five units as Class 99.07 Nos. 99071-99 075 The first two locomotives have been phased out in 1932, the other three in 1935, after the track was completely rebuilt to standard gauge.

Technical Features

The machines represented a multiple built by Krauss in similar dimensions type, including for the Feldabahn, later Prussian T 31, in-plant called XXXV.

The locomotives had a box frame with water tank. The short Langkesselwagen consisted of two shots. On the boiler sat the steam dome, two spring balance safety valves and a Sanddom. The air pump for the air brake was in the front right of the smoke chamber, air tanks were right and the left of the boiler housed. On the chimney of the muffler was attached.
