Bay City is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and is located 190 km north of Detroit, on the Saginaw Bay of Lake Huron. Bay City is the county seat of Bay County.

Important is the automotive industry (General Motors).

Geography

The city has an area of 29.3 km ², of which 27.0 km ² of land and 2.4 km ² water. Through the city flows the Saginaw River.

Museums

The Bay County Historical Museum (formerly the Museum of the Great Lakes ) houses historical artifacts and manages the oldest house in Bay County, the Trombley House, named after a native of France Tromblée brothers.
