The Black -backed duiker ( Cephalophus dorsalis) belongs to the subfamily of Ducker and lives in West and Central Africa. It is found among others in the conservation areas Salonga, Virunga, and Maiko. It describes seven subspecies. The species is still largely unexplored.

The Black -backed duiker has a shoulder height of 56 inches and a body weight of 20 kilograms. This strong, reddish antelope has dark brown to black legs. A black stripe runs across the back and the abdomen.
