Geographical Location

Bayer Bach is located in the region of Landshut in the gentle valley of the Rott near the B 388 about 18 km east of the county town parish churches, 13 km west of Pocking, 31 km south of Vilshofen, 24 km north of Simbach and 40 km from Passau. Bayer Bach has its own railway station on the railway line Passau - Neumarkt-Sankt Veit, the junction Pocking A 3 is about 20 km.

History

The village was part of the Electorate of Bavaria and formed a closed Hofmark whose seat was Bayer Bach. Bayer Bach belonged among other nobles of Etzenberg, Count of Tattenbach and the Counts of Arco Valley. The corresponding lock with three corner towers stood to the north of the parish church. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818 the municipality Steinberg, to which Bayer Bach belonged. It was renamed in 1875 in Bayer Bach.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1972, a part of the formerly independent municipality Kindlbach was reclassified according to Bayer Bach.

Together with the market town of Bad Birnbach is the community Bayer Bach since 1978 in administrative matters (VG ), headquartered in Bad Birnbach. The market town of Bad Birnbach is greater than partners in the administrative community with Josef Hasenberger (CSU, Mayor of Bad Birnbach ) the Chairman of VG - his deputy Franz Hager ( CSU / FDP, mayor of Bayer Bach).
