Baymak
Baimak (Russian Баймак, Bashkir Баймаҡ / Bajmaq ) is a city in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Russia) with 17,710 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).
Geography
The city is located on the eastern flank of the Southern Urals, about 490 km south of the capital Ufa Republic on Tanalyk, a right tributary of the Ural.
Baimak is the Oblast administratively subordinated directly and as the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons.
History
Baimak was created in 1913 as a settlement at a gold and copper mine, and received city rights in 1938.
