Bayterek

The Bajterek Tower (Russian Байтерек; Kazakh Бәйтерек ) in the Kazakh capital Astana is the landmark of the city. It was designed by British architect Norman Foster.

Symbolism

The Bajterek tower symbolizes a mythological tree of life. According to legend, the legendary bird Samruk laid an egg in the tree crown. Therefore, the building symbolizes a " tree " with a diameter of 22 meters measured egg on top. The located around the tree blue sky reflects the peace-loving nature of the country and the red ring that surrounds all elements, symbolizing the ancient faith of the Turkic peoples of rebirth, growth and development.

Nature

The height of the structure is 105 meters. In 97 meters, there is a viewing platform within the golden ball. The height mark of 97 meters symbolizing the year the government procession to Astana (1997). On the observation deck there is a gilded hand print ( alakan ) of the right hand of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, the first President of the independent Republic of Kazakhstan. If one puts his hand into the impression the president hand, then came sooner the national anthem.
