Place name

Until the 12th century the place was called Basollae, which is derived from the Latin word basilica, and probably for a chapel or was a small fortress. From this name, the current name part Bazoches developed. The word Houlme could also be of Latin origin and are derived from the word ulmus (Latin for elm). Another theory is that it originated from the Scandinavian word holm, which describes the wooded hill country around Bazoches.
