Bazon Brock

Bazon Brock (actually Jürgen Hermann John Brock, born June 2, 1936 in Stolp in Pomerania ) is Emeritus Professor of Aesthetics and Cultural Education at the University of Wuppertal, artist and art theorist. Brock is considered a representative of the Fluxus movement.

Life

Brock attended the grammar school Kaiser-Karl- school Itzehoe, from which he graduated with the Abitur examinations in Latin and Greek.

From 1957 he trained in drama and worked from 1960 as a playwright, first at the Stadttheater Luzern. From 1957 to 1964 he studied in parallel German literature, philosophy and political science in Zurich, Hamburg and Frankfurt am Main. Also starting in 1957, he wrote his first action of doctrine and there were first publications. The subject of art, with which it is often associated, he studied not academically, but is a renowned connoisseur of art, both ancient and modern works.
